Description

This is our second film in the series, Martha Marcy May Marlene. It's a psychological thriller about a young woman coping with paranoia and delusions after returning to her family from a cult in the Catskill Mountains. 

We will show the film and host a short discussion afterwards facilitated by Associate Professor of Visual Arts, Fred Worden. This screening is completely free and open to the public.

According to Wikipedia, "The film has received mostly positive reviews; it holds an 90% "fresh" rating (Fresh 153/Rotten 17) on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus capsule stating, "Led by a mesmerizing debut performance from Elizabeth Olsen, Martha Marcy May Marlene is a distinctive, haunting psychological drama." On Metacritic, the film has a 76 out of 100 "Metascore"."

This film won the Sundance Film Festival 2011 award for Best Drama.
